Two years ago I did something very strange. I walked into a martial arts gym with ZERO experience and in the worst shape of my life for a Brazilian jiujitsu class. @emersondoyle was my teacher that night and he had me sit out at the end of class because I looked like I was about to puke. And I was! But that night, even though I tapped out a dozen times, I was addicted. I’ve tapped out hundreds of times since then... But fast forward to tonight... I unexpectedly earned my my blue belt. I’m grateful that the gym I walked into was @Evolveall. It’s a great community! My professor @cesarcabrerabjj is not only the best instructor in the D.C. area but he’s also a hell of a dude. This guy earned his black belt from THE @renzograciebjj. Legendary stuff. I’m fortunate I found myself there. To be honest I decided to go when I saw and Instagram post of when @yo.jav got his blue belt. So my hope is that one person seeing this will hit me up and join me on the journey. #teamrenzogracie #evolveall #cabrerabjj #bluebelt #bjj 💙💙💙
