This cold is unbearable! 📸by @lillimcnair 🐻🐻🐻
Not a bad way to end 2018... just dropped in at @tristargym and took a class instructed by the legend @georgesstpierre.
2018 will go down as one of the fullest and most remarkable years for me. I started a new job which has been challenging and exciting, began practicing BJJ with my new friends at @evolveall, and won a hard fought battle with Arlington county regarding an issue that was hurting my neighbors. But of course, one story dominated the headlines - the coming and growing of my adorable, determined, and SUPER-happy son Cassian (#🐻McNair). The way I view life has changed in an incredible way since Cassian joined our family. Caring for a baby opens the mind to appreciate the different stages of life, especially now seeing my life mapping over the path walked by my parents and so many other parents. This makes me appreciate parenthood more. Then, being a new dad has increased my compassion for others in general, because after all, we were all babies at one point. And finally, my passion for protecting, educating and helping children both practically and politically has gone through the roof. Nothing is more devastating in life than when children are subject to the war and pain caused by adults... All children deserve equal protection and education. This year I also saw my wife transform. She has embraced motherhood and is enjoying life in a way I haven’t seen before. Our marriage has only strengthened. And despite the energy our wild, beautiful son demands, we have still found room for some extra adventures together. 2019 is the next adventure. I look forward to new vision, deepening friendships, doubling down on rhythms that brings joy to our lives and/or do good for the community, and following God wherever he leads. Cheers! #top9of2018
